One thing you'll discover about both Poop2Poppies™ and me is that I value honesty above almost everything else.
I say what I mean, and I do what I say.
When I first started sharing Poop2Poppies™, some of the feedback was incredibly supportive. Other feedback was less so. Before people had even looked at the website, one comment came up repeatedly...
"You don't profit from people's pain."
If I'm being truthful, I found that frustrating at times.
But the reality is that you don't know me yet.
Trust isn't something people owe you. It's something you earn.
And I completely respect that.
What I can tell you is this.
I am one of you.
Over the coming months and years, I'll be sharing parts of my story. Notes from rehab. Lessons I learned. Mistakes I made. Things that helped. Things that didn't.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Once the products are built, a huge amount of my time will be spent creating content for this website, not trying to sell you things.
A few days ago, I was going through old videos on my phone and found something I had completely forgotten existed.
The footage you're about to watch was filmed the night before I entered a six-month rehabilitation program in July 2019.
I don't remember recording it.
It's raw.
It's real.
And it captures a version of me that was desperately struggling.
Going into that rehabilitation program led to the longest period of sobriety I have achieved in my 17 years of recovery.
I wanted to share this video because there is nothing staged about it.
No script.
No filters.
No carefully selected version of the truth.
Just me.
Before you press play, though, I want to give you a gentle warning.
I am very intoxicated in this footage.
There is no alcohol visible, and I am not drinking in the video, but it is obvious that I am drunk.
I know from experience that certain things can be triggering for some people in recovery.
If you think watching someone who is intoxicated may affect you in any way, please don't watch it.
Your wellbeing is far more important than this video.
For those who do not like strong language, the video does contain a couple of swear words that have not been censored.
Please look after yourself first before choosing to watch.
Always.
